Blog 8: Family before the Modernization

The family before the arrival of the newly advance technology especially the television is a group people of common ancestry living in one roof having traditional ways, and having a good relationship with each other. What I mean in traditional ways is helping each other in doing household chores or any activities, and using of extra time for their family. They clean their house together, and play games like board games and ball games during their leisure time to have a bonding moment. Another thing, they care for each other. They do not make a gap among each other by being concern about each other’s action and the happenings in each other’s life. Then, through some sort of opening up with each other about certain issues, the family has established a good relationship among them. This usually happens during the eating time where all of the family members are in the dining room. They eat and talk with each other. With this, parents have the chance to listen to their children about their experience during the entire day while parents have time to share about their past and to give their children important advices and encouraging messages. In addition, through this, each member knows what the problems that the other members are facing and each can help in any means.
